9/11 Tribute Shoot

On September 11th, 2011 the Matanuska Valley Sportsmen hosted a 9/11 Tribute Shoot with all proceeds going to The Wounded Warrior Project. We raised slightly over $2100.00 for this purpose.

There were shooting demonstrations, hot dogs, an old-fashioned turkey shoot, silent auctions and drawings for door prizes every half hour.

We would like to thank the following businesses for their generous donations which helped make this event a successful fund-raiser for the Wounded Warrior Project:

Outdoor Range Now Open!!!

The 100 yard Outdoor Range is now open!  Hours run concurrent with regular open hours.

Mondays          6 pm – 8 PM or Sunset
Wednesdays    6 pm – 8 PM or Sunset
Fridays            Noon – 8 PM or Sunset
Saturdays        4 PM - 8 PM or Sunset
Sundays          4 pm – 8 PM or Sunset

Please call 746-4862 to check for RSO availability before coming to shoot on the outdoor range.

Ladies Only Night Schedule

Ladies Only Nights at the Range is an educational program which has provided a valuable service to hundreds of women in our community. Coordinator of Women’s Programs, Brenda Montgomery, is pleased to announce the Ladies Only Night schedule at the range for 2011-2012

(Note: All Ladies Only Nights at the Range are staffed by NRA Certified Firearms Instructors and Range Safety Officers)

Concealed Handgun Permit/Personal Protection Class (3 day) November 17, 18, and 19, 2011.  On Thurs. and Fri. class is from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the Palmer Fire Training Center located at 645 East Cope Industrial Way. On Sat., November 19th, class is held at MVS Indoor range from 9:00 AM till 3:00 PM.
